Fantasy-Themed Event in Centralia, WA

The Atheria Fae Ball, hosted by Christy Ann Designs of the Victorian & Steampunk Emporium, brought together a mix of fantasy lovers, cosplayers, and creatives for a night of costumes, performances, and community at the historic Lewis and Clark Hotel in Centralia, WA.

As a fantasy event photographer, I had the chance to capture some truly incredible looks—everything from elegant fae royalty to dark and mysterious forest spirits. It was one of those events where everyone showed up ready to embrace the theme in their own way, and that made it such a fun night to photograph.

One of my favorite things about fantasy-themed events is seeing how people interpret the theme. The Atheria Fae Ball was filled with unique takes on fantasy inspired fashion. Some guests went full glam with intricate wings and detailed headdresses, while others took a more subtle or dark approach—and honestly, every look was its own kind of magic.

Seeing people bring their own creativity and personality into their outfits is always a highlight for me. Whether it was handmade accessories, layered textures, or full-blown theatrical makeup, there was no shortage of inspiration. I would love to capture that same creativity in a fantasy photoshoot—bringing the looks I saw to life in a way that feels immersive, cinematic, and uniquely you, I can only imaging the magic!

Live Entertainment & Vendors at Atheria Fae Ball 2024

Beyond the fashion, the live performances really set the tone for the night.

PNW Kings Court brought theatrical and musical performances, adding an immersive storytelling element to the event.

@gold_silks_girl’s aerial performances were a showstopper, pulling all eyes to the sky with fluid, graceful movement.

@hubcitycruisers kept the energy going with music that kept people on the dance floor.

A variety of vendors were set up, offering steampunk, fantasy, and Victorian-inspired pieces—many of which can be found at @steampunkemporium if you missed out on shopping at the event.

As a fantasy photographer, I love capturing events like this because there’s so much expression and artistry happening in real-time. Whether it was someone lost in the music, a dramatic character moment, or a group of friends twirling in their gowns, the night was full of photo-worthy moments.

The best part? Everyone there was fully in the moment. That’s what makes fantasy events so fun to shoot—people aren’t just dressing up, they’re embodying a character, stepping into a different world, and bringing a little magic into the real one.
