Girls Night Out in Downtown Centralia: A Day Full of Charm, Connection, and Little Discoveries

There’s something about Centralia, Washington that just knows how to show up for community.

Maybe it’s the historic streets.

Maybe it’s the small businesses that pour their heart into every detail.

Or maybe it’s nights like this…

Girls Night Out.

A bi-annual tradition that turns downtown into something a little more alive, a little more sparkly, and a lot more connected.

Turning an ordinary Saturday into a full-day experience of wandering, shopping, visiting, laughing, and discovering all the little things that make the downtown community feel special.

Girls Night Out has become one of those traditions people look forward to not just because it’s fun, but because it brings so much heart into one day. Historic downtown fills with participating businesses, special offers, giveaways, limo rides and that festive energy that makes you want to keep strolling just a little longer.

Since opening my studio in downtown Centralia, I’ve participated as one of the stops on the passport along the Girls Night Out route and it’s become one of my favorite days of the year.

Each time, I try to create something a little different inside the space.

We’ve had photo booth moments that turn into full-on memory-making with friends…

goodie bags that people have been excited about…shopping through retired looks from The Christallizzed Client Closet and and little surprises tucked throughout the studio that make it feel like more than just a place you pass through.

Sometimes it’s the first reveal of a new set, something no one has seen yet.

Other times, it’s the last chance to step in and take a photo before a setup comes down for the season.

There’s something really special about watching people walk in, light up, grab their friends, and say, “Wait, it's actually super cute inside!!”

But I’ve also had the opportunity to experience it from another side…

As the event photographer.

And that’s given me a completely different glimpse into what this day really feels like.

Here's a glimpse into what this experience looks like!

What I love most about days like this is how naturally they invite people in.

You make plans with your friends, but the best parts usually happen in between the plans. It’s stepping into a shop you’ve never visited before. It’s finding something unexpected. It’s running into familiar faces. It’s that feeling of downtown being full of life, movement, and conversation all at once.
