Over the years, I’ve heard so many stories about “who was cruising where” back in the day. Stories shared by long-time locals during real estate photography sessions, at classic car shows, and in everyday conversations with friends and family. It’s one of the things I love most about car culture in Centralia and Chehalis and something I recognized right away when I moved here as a teen.
It’s more than just a hobby; it’s a living part of small-town history. Nearly everyone has a memory tied to a car, a street, or a time when weekend cruising was the highlight of the week. Those stories still come alive today at events like the Hub City Cruisers Car Show, where community, nostalgia, and incredible builds come together. Capturing those moments through is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Every summer, the twin towns of Centralia / Chehalis come alive with the rumble of engines and the shine of chrome for one of Lewis County’s most anticipated events, the Hub City Cruisers Car Show. This annual celebration brings visitors from across the region to witness rows upon rows of classic cars, custom builds, hot rods, vintage trucks, and muscle machines.
Whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or just love the nostalgic feel of small-town summer events, the Hub City Car Show is where car culture and community pride collide.
What makes this event truly special isn’t just the cars, it’s the people. Families come out to enjoy the show, and generations of gearheads swap stories about the good old days. As both a photographer and a local, I’m always inspired by the way this event captures the heart and history of our area, The Hub City, where history, horsepower, and heart all meet.
